the christian life is like walking on a lake...
when you first start off, you walk along the waters edge, near to the shore, where the water is most shallow, but as you begin to grow, you start walking toward the center of the lake, away from the safety of the shore and land, and as you keep walking to the place where the water is at its deepest, you find yourself in a place where you can do nothing but drown without the presence of God, utterly helpless without Him, a place where all self reliance and self worth are out of reach, where comfort and worldly pleasure are left back at the distant shoreline, a place where you are abandoned in worship, a place where faith truly begins...
